In 1992, he became executive editor of Topps Comics, where, among many other projects, he wrote an X-Files story set here in Devils Lake! To be sure, his self-described career has been 'varied' -more ups than downs but experiences which he wouldn't trade for the world. In addition, Dwight will speak about his experiences as a writer and publisher.ĭwight, who resides in Brooklyn, New York, graduated from North Dakota State School of Science at Wahpeton in 1974, then worked briefly as a UND Press employee before moving to The Big Apple to work for Marvel Comics in 1977, writing Spider-Man and X-Men stories. The library will be hosting two events with Zimmerman (hereafter, Dwight!): Tuesday, June 17, 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, June 21, 3-5 p.m.īoth will include book signings of some of his many books (he's bringing as much as he can), including the newest version - the brand new paperback edition - of “Lincoln's Last Days: The Shocking Assassination That Changed America Forever,” co-authored with best-selling writer Bill O'Reilly. (And, of course, to visit his Mom, Darlene Zimmerman, and many friends!) He has been a publisher and writer for over thirty-five years, and he's coming back to his hometown to help raise funds for the Lake Region Public Library.
